   Looking at the world – the UN Millennium Development Goals, “a series of time-bound and measurable goals and targets, confirms the political commitment of UN Member States to halve, by 2015, the proportion of the population without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation.”

   “In 2009, 884 million people
   worldwide still rely on unimproved water sources for their drinking,
   cooking, bathing and other domestic activities…”
