According to the latest IPCC report, if global temperatures rise 2°C, by the mid-21st century Southern Africa can expect several changes in climate. There will be increases in heavy rain and flooding, despite simultaneous increases in aridity, drought and fire weather. There will also be significant increases in wind speed and wind energy potential.
