According to AMPS2011, 6.4 million women between the ages of 20 and 50 have a child below the age of 14. 26% of these women are employed full time and 9% are employed part time. (AMPS2011)
Actually surprised at the low rate (26% of mothers that are working). The perception these days is that it’s very expensive to raise children so mothers tend to work. On the other hand high unemployment probably also plays a role in this stat.
