Acquired savant syndrome is a rare condition where people develop extraordinary abilities, such as advanced math, art, or music, after a brain injury. Fewer than 100 cases exist. One striking case is Jason Padgett, who, after a head injury, suddenly began drawing complex mathematical patterns called fractals, despite never studying math or art before.
