Rafflesia arnoldii, found in the rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia is the largest single flower on Earth. With blooms that can reach over a metre across and weigh up to around 10 kilograms, it is actually a parasite that lives entirely inside a host vine. When it is ready to flower, it bursts out as an enormous, blood red bloom, which smells like rotting flesh, to attract carrion flies and beetles that pollinate it.
