Discovered more than 400 years ago, the biggest active storm in our solar system is on Jupiter. Roughly 150 years ago the storm's diameter was estimated to be ~48,000 km wide. In 2017 the storm measured 16,350km wide, 30% greater than the diameter of Earth. Wind velocities at the edge of the storm can reach up to 400km/h.
