Mandela's first job was as a security guard at a mine; his last job was as President of South Africa (the country's first black president). Some numbers: Mandela spent 27 years of his life in prison, he has honorary degrees from more than 50 international universities, and holds the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to him in 1993. Mandela married his third and current wife Graca Machel on his 80th birthday, has fathered six children, has twenty grandchildren, and a growing number of great-grandchildren.
