To date, we have released approximately 1,010 gigatons (GT) of carbon dioxide. There is only 2,755 GT left to release from current reserves. We currently emit 36 gigatons of fossil fuel emissions per year, and this is increasing at a rate of 2.5% per year. At this rate, we will reach our Carbon budget in 8 years. (http://bit.ly/35lz9Eu)
