Unemployment Rate
According to the latest Quarterly Labour Force Survey, the number of employed people in South Africa has increased by 358 000 from the end of 2017 to the end of 2018. Unfortunately, with the increase of working age people by 608 000 during that time, the unemployment rate still increased by 0.4 percentage points year on year (to 27.1%).
