In 2019 a company in Tokyo, Japan announced that it was giving non-smoking staff an extra 6 days of paid leave to make up for smokers in the company who are allowed frequent smoke breaks. Since then a number of other companies around the world have followed suit with a UK company being quoted "Remember, a healthier workplace is a happier workplace".
