16% of the World Health Organisation (WHO) $5.6bn funding comes from the US, the biggest donor. This amount of roughly $890m is both assessed (member) contributions, and voluntary contributions. US president Trump said funding would be put on hold for 60 to 90 days pending a review of the WHO’s warnings about the coronavirus and China.
